KAMLOOPS - A man is in jail after pulling a knife on an employee who caught him trying to steal from Winners yesterday.

Around 12:50 p.m., April 20, an employee noticed a man attempting to steal clothing and shoes from Winners. When approached the man pulled a knife out and threatened the employee before running out of the store, according to a RCMP media release.

The man, who Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says was previously known to police, was located by officers a few blocks away and was arrested without incident.

He was held in custody awaiting a court appearance today, April 21.

The employee was not injured in the incident.
