Original Publication Date July 07, 2016 - 4:30 PM

KAMLOOPS - An elderly man suffering from Alzheimers has been located safe and sound in Logan Lake.

Yesterday, July 7, the Logan Lake RCMP was notified of a situation with a possible missing person. RCMP Air Services and Police Service Dog resources were activated along with SAR volunteers shortly after.

Kamloops Search and Rescue and the Nicola Valley team from Merritt assisted with the effort.

The RCMP Police Service Dog did locate a track which led to the discovery of a piece of clothing belonging to the man early in the day.

The man was eventually located safe and sound at around 6:30pm, after a passerby, notified authorities of seeing an elderly male that may be in need of assistance.

This story was updated at 7:47 a.m. July 8 with new information from RCMP.
