Two people chased each other with weapons near a Kamloops fast food restaurant after what began as a road rage incident.

A man and a woman were eventually arrested after multiple police officers responded to Valleyview, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release. RCMP don't identify the fast food restaurant.

Officers were called to the 1700 block of the East Trans-Canada Highway yesterday afternoon, Aug. 18. A verbal confrontation escalated, leading to a weapons report around 1:24 p.m.

Police said the weapons involved were a bat and a knife.

“Officers located those involved, both of whom were uninjured, and as part of their investigation, determined the incident started as a result of a road rage incident,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

Both were released from custody while still at the scene, police said.

Anyone who witnessed, has video, or information related to the investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-28827.
