KAMLOOPS - Slide the City is almost here and with it a major road closure.
Hillside Drive will be closed all day this Saturday, July 18, to host the Slide the City event.
Slide the City features a massive slip and slide which will cover much of Hillside Drive until Notre Dame Drive.
While detour signage is already being posted on the roads leading up to Hillside Drive Elnaz Ansari with the City of Kamloops’ Traffic and Transport Division says the permit only allows for a 24-hour closure which will block general traffic and only permit emergency personnel and transit.
The detour will reroute traffic onto the highway.
