The ticket buyer wasn't the only winner in the $35 million dollar lottery prize that went to a man in Kamloops.

Sanjeev Aggerwal sold the winning ticket to Gary Hill at McGoo's Smokes N Stuff in Kamloops. Aggerwal was rewarded with a $35,000 prize as a result, according to a news release from BCLC.

"I found out I sold the winning lottery ticket and I had goosebumps then and now even," Aggerwal said in the release.

His reward was a percentage of Hill's $35 million winnings, which is a policy BCLC put in place to engage sellers in lottery winners' excitement.

A percentage of winnings over $10,000 go to the sellers, but that percentage varies depending on the prize amount.

Aggerwal shared the news with his children and employees when he found out. He will also be sharing some of his prize with family and employees at McGoo's Smokes N Stuff.

“We all won. If I win, my employees win… we are like a family,” he said.

The draw took place on June 22, in which Gary Hill, a retired truck driver in Kamloops, split a Lotto Max grand prize of $70 million with another winner in Ontario.
