Kamloops Blazers Alumni, Co-Owner and Kamloops native Mark Recchi has been selected into the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame

Recchi is one of the greatest athletes to come out of Kamloops. He played with the Kamloops Blazers from 1986-1988 and went on to a 22-year NHL playing career winning three Stanley Cups. He also won a Stanley Cup in 2016 with the Pittsburgh Penguins as a Development Coach.

Recchi played in seven NHL all-star games, and also won a Gold Medal at the 1997 IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships.

The Kamloops played 1652 NHL games which ranks fifth all-time. He is 13th all-time in NHL points with 1533 throughout his career. The only B.C. born player who recorded more career points in the NHL was Joe Sakic.

Recchi will join the 1994-95 Kamloops Blazers (2016), and Scott Niedermayer (2014) among Kamloops Blazers alumni inducted into the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame.
