Kamloops RCMP located a man wanted on a warrant earlier this week and found drugs, cash and a weapon on him during the arrest.

The man was found to be carrying more than 160 grams of what police suspect to be fentanyl, along with methamphetamine, crack cocaine and other drugs, according to an RCMP press release.

Police say he was also carrying thousands of dollars in cash and a collapsible baton.

The arrest occurred on the 110 block of Columbia Street West on Feb. 17, around 10:45 p.m.

"He was wanted in relation to drug trafficking offences," media relations officer Const. Crystal Evelyn said. "All items were seized as part of an ongoing investigation."

RCMP do not say what charges the suspect may be facing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-5158.
