Kamloops RCMP seek suspect after report of firearm pointed at train

Kamloops RCMP are looking for a suspect after a report of a man pointing a gun toward a train.

Police responded around 12:40 p.m., Sept. 18, downtown to locate a blue Chevrolet truck with a broken canopy, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

Reports first directed police to both Columbia and Victoria streets, but an update led officers eastbound on East Trans Canada Highway, near Highland Road.

The vehicle was not found.

Later, a license plate led an address where the suspect might have been, but it was found to be inaccurate, according to Kamloops RCMP.

Police are now seeking witnesses or information from from the public. Anyone with information can contact the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000.
