Kamloops RCMP searching for driver of vehicle after dog killed in hit and run incident

November 27, 2019 - 4:09 PM

Kamloops RCMP are searching for a male suspect after a dog was struck and killed yesterday afternoon.

Police say yesterday, Nov. 26, in the 1000 block of Chief Louis Way, a male driver in a pickup truck hit a German shepherd dog in a residential driveway.

Kamloops RCMP media spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the owner of the dog saw the suspect fully cross the centre line before hitting the dog at the top of his driveway.

The dog died at the scene.

After hitting the dog, the vehicle stopped briefly then headed west.

The driver is described as Caucasian, 45 to 50 years old, no facial hair, and was wearing a black hat with sunglasses.

The vehicle is described as a white newer Ford 150 Crew cab with a black tone cover which may have had black pinstripes down the side.
