KAMLOOPS — Police in Kamloops are searching for a male suspect after a robbery at a downtown store last night.

Kamloops RCMP are searching for a man who entered Doctor Love and Hemp City store on Victoria Street yesterday, March 7, at 8:15 p.m., according to a RCMP media release.

Officers say the man had his face covered and demanded money from the cash register. No weapon was produced and no one was injured.

The suspect is described as 5'10" to 6'0" tall, with slender build. He was wearing a long navy blue parka with a fur-lined hood. He was also wearing a black toque with a white stripe along the rim and dark pants.

Mounties say this robbery happened within hours of a robbery taking place at the 7-Eleven on Summit Drive. Police do not believe the robberies were committed by the same suspect, as descriptions do not match.

"At this time, there is no evidence linking this suspect to any of the other robberies that have occurred over the past month," Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in the release.

Police say they have responded to a number of robberies in the downtown core in recent months and are asking store owners and managers to review their security protocols with their employees and make sure to report any suspicious activity they see to police.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery can call the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000.
