A smashed window and break in at a store on Hillside Drive prompted a police response early this morning.

On the 1300-block of Hillside Drive, a rock was used to break into a front door at the store. Surveillance footage showed a man fill a shopping cart with merchandise and leave, according to an RCMP press release.

Police arrived on the scene around 12:30 a.m., Feb. 19, but after searching the area, the suspect could not be found.

"Police recovered the shopping cart and product on Camosun Crescent. They returned it to the store," Const. Crystal Evelyn said.

Anyone with information on the incident can call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
