What started as a report about an abandoned vehicle in Kamloops late last week ended with the arrest of heavily armed suspects including one wanted on a warrant.
An officer responding to a report of an abandoned vehicle around 7:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, on Campbell Creek Pit Road in Kamloops found two people passed out inside and they also spotted a large knife, according to an RCMP media release.
A search of the suspect vehicle turned up a loaded firearm, a BB gun, a knife that folds into brass knuckles, a baton, conductive energy weapon and an explosive device. Drugs and suspected stolen property also were found during the search.
RCMP said the vehicle had mismatched plated and was uninsured so it was towed.
One of the suspects arrested was wanted on a warrant out of Chase and held in custody.
Charges will likely be laid, police said.
