KAMLOOPS - Police are asking for the public’s assistance after a 48-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Kamloops.

Police say on Oct. 20, at 1:40 a.m., a taxi driver contacted the Kamloops RCMP to report he had come across a man injured and lying on Seymour Street near the B.C. Lottery Corporation Building.

Officers on scene requested an ambulance and life-saving measures were taken but the man later died from his injuries at the hospital, police say.

The driver did not stop or remain at the scene, but video surveillance captured the vehicle after it struck the man.

Police are looking for a mid-2000s Dodge Neon SX 2.0 four-door sedan, silver or grey in colour.

Anybody with information to help identify the suspect vehicle is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
