Kamloops RCMP are looking for information regarding a pickup truck believed to be related to an arson late last year.

Officers were called to a building at 6 Avenue and Landsdowne Street in Kamloops on Nov. 28, 2020 at around 2:17 a.m., after sparks were observed coming from a construction site, according to an RCMP media release.

The sparks were followed by a man running down the road with a jerry can. A vehicle could also be heard taking off from the area.

Kamloops Fire Department personnel attended the scene and extinguished two smouldering areas on the building’s second floor.

Surveillance footage showed a vehicle coming and going several times from the location. Kamloops RCMP would like to speak with the owner of the vehicle or whoever was driving it at the time.

The truck is described as a burgundy Ford F-250 or F-350 with a unique boat or lumber rack.

The driver’s side headlight appeared to be burnt out.

If you have information regarding the truck or the incident, contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000, referencing file 2020-39478.
