KAMLOOPS - Police in Kamloops are investigating a young man's death after he was found in a hotel room on Columbia Street West.

At 8:50 a.m. today, Aug. 10, Kamloops RCMP were notified that hotel staff found the man's body in one of the rooms.

The serious crime unit attended and says it's too early in their investigation to determine if the death is suspicious, police say in a news release.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the man has been tentatively identified, and after confirmation of his identity, his family will be notified.

Shelkie says the investigation is ongoing.
