Kamloops RCMP are investigating what appears to have been a child abduction attempt on Frontage Road in Rayleigh on March 29.

A 13-year-old boy was riding his bike in front of the Rayleigh Pub when a car pulled up beside him, and a man asked him if he wanted a ride. The boy declined and the car pulled over and parked. A man got out and allegedly grabbed the boy's arm. The boy pulled free, injuring his shoulder in the process, and rode away.

The man who got out of the car is described as being 5’8" with blonde hair that was shaved on the sides, with a mullet at the back. He was wearing a “Metallica” band t-shirt and brown cargo pants.

Other than the man who exited the vehicle, there were two other men in the car. All appeared to be in their 20s.

One of the men in the car had a completely shaved head. He was wearing a black sweater and black sweatpants. The second man in the car had a dark complexion and dark hair. He was wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

The vehicle was a grey 4-door Honda sedan with tinted rear windows. It had a “Thrasher” bumper sticker. It is believed that the first two letters of the licence plate are JV.

Kamloops RCMP is asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact them at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
