Kamloops RCMP find suspect with outstanding warrants, arrest him after pursuit

Kamloops RCMP caught up with someone they’ve been trying to nab for some time.

According to a release from the Kamloops RCMP, they found the man parked and alone at a Valleyview business at 1:40 p.m. today.

The 36-year-old man is well known to police and has multiple warrants for his arrest, although the release did not specify what for.

The release said police used their vehicles to box the man in, but he rammed a police vehicle and was able to get away. The tires of the vehicle he was driving were spiked a short time after, and then the man dumped the car.

With the help of the public and a K-9 unit, the man was located and arrested.

He will appear in court this weekend for his outstanding warrants as well as for today’s incident.

“Police have been hunting this individual down to arrest him for too long and it’s great to have him off the streets,” says Sgt. Jeff Bingley with the Kamloops RCMP in the release.
