A 48-year-old Kamloops woman hasn't been seen since Aug. 6 and her family is looking for answers.

Rejeana Neveu was reported missing on Aug. 8 from Kamloops after she was last seen by her family two days earlier, according to an RCMP news release issued today, Aug. 10.

Neveu's daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Erickson, said she was last seen at the Kamloops car show, Hot Nite in the City. That evening, her dog and all her belongings were still at home, but Neveu and her car were gone,

"It's overwhelming," she said.

Erickson and the rest of Neveu's family are keeping each other up to date and trying to track her down, but they last made contact with her on Aug. 7.

Neveu's phone was tracked in Winfield where she made two phone calls, Erickson said, but there's been no activity on her phone since then.

Neveu's family is dispersed, with some in B.C. and others mostly in other provinces, so Erickson has been in contact with Kamloops RCMP most.

"I don't have an option other than to be composed because I'm the only one here," she said. "It's hard, but I'm compartmentalizing my emotions... to support them as best I can."

In a social media post, Erickson said her mother-in-law has friends throughout the Interior and in Nanaimo, but it's "incredibly strange" for her to leave without notice.

Neveu is described as a Caucasian woman with brown hair and blue eyes, police said. She is 5'3" tall and 126 lb. She has a C-section scar across her mid-section, a large back tattoo and a small elephant tattoo on her left ankle.

She may be driving a 2018 white Mazda 3 hatchback with B.C. licence plate number HS7 42C. It has a "Harris Nanaimo" licence plate frame.

“Her disappearance is out of character and her family and police are concerned for her wellbeing,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

If you are Rejeana or have information about where she may be, contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-27583.
