Kamloops police scour river for possible bridge jumper

FILE PHOTO

KAMLOOPS - Police and search crews found no signs of a man who may have jumped from the Overlanders Bridge last night around 10 p.m.

Police were called around 9:55 p.m. after someone saw the 'agitated man' jump to the water below. They searched the river and shores but found no signs of the man, Staff Sgt. Michel Grondin said in a release this morning.

"The suspected jumper was described to be a male, approximately 6’ tall with two or three days worth of facial hair, wearing dark coloured pants, a bright blue hoody," Grondin said. "Prior to jumping off the bridge the male was acting distraught, flailing his arms, and appeared impaired and agitated."

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the man or who may have other information to contact them at 250-828-3000.
