A Kamloops pizzeria is running a month-long fundraiser in hopes of raising enough money so assault victim Jessie Simpson can go home.

Jesse Simpson was 18 years old on June 19, 2016, when he was walking home from a graduation party. He was looking for a friend’s address when he approached the wrong house and was assaulted by Kristopher Teichrieb. Teichrieb struck Simpson on the head with an aluminum baseball bat multiple times, leaving Simpson in a coma. Teichrieb was charged with attempted murder and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Simpson has since come out of his coma but still suffers from a severe brain injury as a result of the attack.

His family home in Savona will need to be renovated to make it wheelchair accessible.

Papa G’s Cafe is supporting the family’s mission to get Jessie home with the sale of pizzas for the next month. For $30, you can order two large pepperoni pizzas or two large Hawaiian pizzas, and $5 from each purchase will go towards the Simpson family. Papa G's Cafe is located at 258 Victoria St. in Kamloops.
