The smoky skies advisory continues today, July 27, for Kamloops but the weekend is looking great for that area and in the Okanagan – sunny and not too hot.
Despite the caution issued by Environment Canada, the Air Quality Health Index shows a level 3, or low risk, rating for Kamloops through today, dropping to an even lower risk level tomorrow.
The forecast high today is 29 Celsius in Kamloops rising to 30 C tomorrow with a 30% chance of showers and a risk of thundershowers tonight and Friday afternoon.
Vernon and Kelowna are expected to have a mix of sun and cloud for the rest of the workweek with highs of 28 C today and 30 C on Friday. Penticton is forecast to be a degree warmer.
Then the weekend comes with sunny skies forecast throughout the region and highs of 32 C Saturday and 30 C Sunday in Kamloops and the Okanagan.
The sunshine is forecast to continue through until at least Wednesday of next week with highs in the 30-32 C range.
