Alcohol and icy roads are thought to be factors in a two-vehicle crash that landed a Kamloops man in hospital with serious but stable injuries.
Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk with the Kamloops RCMP said police, Kamloops Fire Rescue and the BC Ambulance Service responded to the collision at Halston Avenue and 14th Street Sunday, Nov. 24 at 6:10 a.m.
Buliziuk said the vehicles collided head-on and two men were extracted and taken to hospital for treatment.
"A 35-year-old Kamloops man was transported by ambulance in serious but stable condition, while a 28-year-old Calgary man was briefly treated and released from medical care," Buliziuk said.
"Alcohol and icy road surfaces are believed to have been factors in the collision and an investigation is ongoing accordingly. Upon completion, information will be forwarded to the British Columbia Prosecution Service for assessment and approval of applicable charges, if any."
Traffic was disrupted. The roads have since been reopened.
