A Kamloops man who died in a Trans-Canada Highway crash in Sicamous earlier this month has been identified through crowdfunding.
A GoFundMe has been started for the family of Shaun Michael, who died in the crash on the Bruhn Bridge in the Shuswap, Nov. 6.
“A preliminary police investigation has indicated that a truck veered into Shaun’s path on the Bruhn Bridge in Sicamous, B.C., resulting in a tragic and fatal collision. Shaun leaves behind his wife, Tanya, two beautiful, young daughters, Jadyn and Harley, and is predeceased by his young son, Trace,” wrote Hope Bahry, the fundraiser’s organizer.
The other driver, a 52-year-old Alberta man, was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the RCMP.

The online fundraiser was started to “ease the difficulty and uncertainty of this time," for Michael's family.
He is described as a "telecom veteran" with years of service in the industry as well as a talented woodworker and builder.
He had a passion for smoked meats and will be remembered as a "grill expert," Bahry wrote.
As of Nov. 11, the fundraiser has raised $24,000 out of its $100,000 goal.
