Kamloops man facing charges in 2019 shooting

A Kamloops man faces multiple charges in connection to a 2019 shooting.

Tristan Alan Olson, 23, was arrested on May 21 in relation to to a North Shore shooting that took place Dec. 30, 2019, according to an RCMP media release.

On the day of the shooting, police were called at around 5:19 a.m. to the 300-block of Alexander Avenue and found a 24-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

Officers suspected the shooting to be targeted and people involved were known to police, RCMP said.

The investigation by Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit eventually led to an arrest warrant on May 21 and Olson was arrested around 3:30 p.m. that day.

Olson is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, June 3.
