Police believe there may be more victims after a Kamloops man was charged with sexual assault against a minor.

Guy Purcell, 38, was charged on Sept. 6 for sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and uttering threats, according to Kamloops RCMP.

"Police are releasing a photo of Purcell in order to further the investigation and identify anyone who may have additional information in relation to this alleged sexual assault, or any other interactions that they may have had with him," Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.

Purcell is scheduled for a bail hearing today, Sept. 15, in Williams Lake.

There are no charges related to sexual assault scheduled for Williams Lake courts, according to court records. He will instead be facing charges for uttering threats, harrassment and breaching probation, where the offences are alleged to have been in Dawson Creek and Delta.

Kamloops RCMP believe the female youth may not be the only victim.

"We want to encourage parents to share Purcell’s photo with their kids as we know that children are not necessarily monitoring mainstream media, and the investigation to date leads police to believe Purcell may have had unreported dealings with other youth," Evelyn said.

Purcell is described as a Caucasian man with brown hair and blue eyes. He's 6'1" and weighs around 165 lbs, with an athletic build, according to Kamloops RCMP.
