A Kamloops man has been charged with unlawful confinement along with a number of assault charges after being arrested March 11.
Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of an armed man outside a downtown home at about 5:30 a.m.
A woman had fled the home. When police arrived she was examined and sent to hospital by ambulance.
David Norman Myales, 59, was picked up in a traffic stop nearby.
“We are asking anyone who was in the area of the Kings Motor Inn in the 1700-block of the Trans-Canada Highway and noted any suspicious activity between March 2 and March 10, 2021 and has not already spoken with police, to call the Kamloops RCMP,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a news release.
Along with the unlawful confinement charge, Myales has been charged with various forms of assault including assault with a weapon, uttering threats, break and enter with intent to commit an offence, use of a firearm while committing an indictable offence and pointing a firearm.
He’s being held in jail until his next court appearance scheduled for today, March 15.
