A 31-year-old Kamloops man is facing multiple charges after an months-long investigation into 3D-printed guns.

Police searched Adrian Picketts-Yoxall's Heffley Creek home in January 2022, where they found the 3D printer and firearms, but he wasn't charged until yesterday, according to a news release from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of BC.

The gang enforcement squad was investigating privately made firearms in in the Thompson-Okanagan, acting on a tip they received in December 2021, according to the news release.

"Illegal firearms, such as those made in someone's home, are a major focus for police across Canada," gang unit spokesperson Sgt. Brenda Winpenny said in the release. "CFSEU BC is working closely with its partners across the province to investigate and disrupt the people and groups who may seek to illegally make and sell firearms."

When police searched Picketts-Yoxall's home, they seized three 3D printed firearm receivers, along with a "tactical style" shotgun, body armour, ammunition and magazines, according to the release.

He's now wanted as he's facing six firearms-related charges, including two counts of firearms manufacturing and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The gang squad said other police agencies helped in the investigation, including the National Weapons Enforcement team, Kamloops RCMP, Southeast District RCMP and Canadian Border Services Agency.
