The sick lynx spotted wandering around Kamloops last month has now returned to full health and has been released from the B.C. Wildlife Park.

The lynx was brought to the park by a B.C. Conservation Officer after exhibiting abnormal behaviour Oct. 29.

Under further inspection, Wildlife Park staff discovered male lynx had an abdominal infection, and found a 4 cm long twig lodged in its upper eye socket, according to a Facebook post.

The animal's infection was treated with antibiotics and pain medication, and the twig was successfully removed.

The lynx was released in good health in an undisclosed location more appropriate for its species today, Nov. 13.
