The ceremony planned today to honour Capt. Jenn Casey is no longer open to the public, but you can still attend virtually.

The Kamloops Legion announced that due to concerns about mass gatherings over 50 people, they have now closed the tribute at 11 a.m. today, May 21, to the public.

However, it will be live streaming the ceremony on its Facebook page here.

21 May 2020 Tribute to Capt. Casey & Snowbirds will live stream 11 AM.

The event will celebrate the life of Capt. Casey, who lost her life in the Snowbirds plane crash in Brocklehurst, May 17.

The presenters at the event will include members from the Legion, 886 (Overlander) Wing and Anavets, and include the laying of wreaths, and the playing of the Last Post and Reveille by a bugler, according to a Legion Facebook post.

"We want to ensure the Kamloops community that we appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone, and that we all share the heartbreak," stated the Kamloops Legion.

"Our tribute ceremony offers everyone a moment to pause, listen to the words of remembrance, hear the bugle and piper, and remember in our own way."
