A Kamloops lawyer with a history of numerous suspensions and conflicts of interest could be facing disbarment.

Nickolaus Harold MacDonald Weiser was suspended for eight months just last month, but another upcoming decision could determine whether he'll be allowed to practice again in BC.

"There's another disciplinary action decision we're waiting on. That (hearing) was held in January," BC Law Society spokesperson Christine Tam said. "We asked that he was found ungovernable and disbarred."

When that decision will come isn't clear, but the law society's position comes after multiple attempts to suspend him from practicing and to impose financial penalties.

While facing suspensions, even just last year, he has continued to practice law and tried to hide it from the law society.

His most recent suspension was handed down late last month after he acted on both sides of loan agreements at least four separate times.

He also had a financial stake in the lending company.

The law society's hearing panel ordered he pay more than $16,000 along with his eight-month suspension.

Weiser, who's been practicing law since 1984, has been suspended at least five times since 2021.

In August 2023, he was ordered to pay more than $11,000 for another investigation, which he still hasn't paid.
