The Royal Inland Hospital Foundation has launched a campaign that is accepting donations to support its healthcare workers.

“These are just some of our healthcare staff, who, along with hundreds more, are coming to work every day to put the needs and lives of people in our community before their own,” according to the RIH Foundation in a video launched April 9.

The non-profit is asking for donations to “support our frontline staff and help ensure that they have the equipment and tools that they need to provide the best possible care for our community – quickly and safely,” the foundation said in its Facebook post.

Hospital foundations have also launched white heart projects in Kamloops and across the Okanagan, encouraging residents to show their support for healthcare workers by posting white hearts in their windows.

Healthcare facilities across B.C. have also started collecting disposable masks in an effort to have an emergency supply if needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The masks will be sterilized and then stored to be used as an emergency backup supply.
