KAMLOOPS — Real estate sales slowed down in Kamloops for the month of July in comparison to the same month last year, according to new statistics from the Kamloops and District Real Estate Association.
Last month saw the sale of 294 homes compared to the 304 homes sold in July 2018, the association says in a news release. Although sales did pick up from June when only 262 sales were recorded.
“July real estate sales rebounded from the lows in June,” the association says.
The year to date sales are slightly lower this year with the total number of homes sold at 1,703 compared to the 1,852 homes sold during the same period last year. Overall, it’s a decrease of eight per cent.
There were 463 new listings last month compared to the 442 in July 2018. By the end of July, active listings were up 6.5 per cent.
Home prices increased by 5.4 per cent. The median residential price last month was $497,500 compared to the median price for July 2018 which was $472,000.
The average price of all homes sold during last month was $419,703.
Brocklehurst continues to lead as the area with the highest sales with 34 home sold last month, followed by Sahali at 27 and Aberdeen with 25.
