KAMLOOPS - The city is helping find a spot for Greyhound when the company's lease ends in the new year.
With the current station facing redevelopment, Greyhound is looking for a new spot for a bus stop. The bus company doesn’t have any locations picked yet and are still weighing options, spokesperson Lanesha Gipson says. The company has less than five months until they need to be in a new station.
“We are exploring our relocation options,” she says in an email. “Our current lease expires March 31, 2017, and will therefore move before or by that date.”
The bus company has been looking for a new space earlier this year.
During the Nov. 8 council meeting, city development director Marvin Kwiatkowski told council the city is helping with that objective in response to concerns brought to Coun. Donovan Cavers by a commuter who regularly uses the bus company.
“I know they’re in discussions with the city and looking which sites are most suitable, which ones might be rezoned,” he said.
Kwiatkowski couldn't comment on where potential stations were being discussed.
