KAMLOOPS - Despite expectations it was going to move by the end of March, the Greyhound bus depot on Notre Dame Drive is still running as normal.
The lease for the current location ended March 31, 2017, and the company planned to move to a new spot, but that hasn’t happened. According to Greyhound spokesperson Lanesha Gipson the company is still trying to narrow down its options even though plans were to be moved by now.
"We are considering multiple locations,“ she says. "We will continue to serve the Kamloops community from our current location per usual, until further notice."
She says the company is able to operate at the 725 Notre Dame Dr. location until they can find a new location and move in. When that move will be is still unknown though.
“We don’t have any time frame as to when we’ll have a decision,” Gipson says.
The company is talking to the City of Kamloops about where the new location will be and is looking at multiple locations still.
Gipson says ideally the future station will be near a highway and convenient for customers to get to.
