KAMLOOPS - A 6-year-old’s battle with cancer has come to a sad end.

Samantha Donovan passed away at 10:30 a.m., April 21, according to a Facebook post from her mother Allison.

Sam had been battling nearly two years with a form of cancer called Burkitt’s leukaemia.

It went into remission for a short period of time, but returned in May 2015. In March 2016 the Donovans learned Sam would only have days left to live.

During her battle Sam spent much of her time in Canuck Place Children’s Hospice with her family.

According to the Facebook post, the family returned to Kamloops last week as the cancer worsened.
