Multiple fires ravaged homes in the Rayleigh area of Kamloops but the RCMP believes the fires were not related to one another.
On Friday, July 31, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Kamloops RCMP and Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to a report of a house fire at 4831 Aspen Park Drive, according to the RCMP in a news release. Upon arrival, emergency crews noted the fire had spread to a neighbour's house. There were no reports of injury from either home's occupants. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time, according to the news release.

Approximately 30 minutes later, another residence located a few blocks away on Reighmount Drive was reported to be on fire. Police and Kamloops Fire Rescue attended the residence and learned both occupants were able to exit the home and were not injured. Fire Investigators have determined the fire was not suspicious.
"Based on the investigation thus far, the fires on Reighmount Drive and Aspen Park Drive are not believed to be related," according to the news release.
Kamloops RCMP is asking anyone who may have more information regarding the fire on Aspen Park Drive to contact them at 250-828-3000.
