Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to a grassfire at Tk'émlups Indian Band on Friday afternoon.
Two engines and two bush trucks were on the scene behind BA Dawson Blacktop, at the corner of Chief Louis Way and Paul Lake Road, where they responded around 4:15 p.m., April 30.
Platoon Capt. Troy Grant said ten personnel were at the grassfire around 5:20 p.m. with the fire contained and B.C. Wildfire Service on the way to provide assistance.
Mike Davies, who works at BA Dawson Blacktop, said they reported the fire. Davies said he saw flames shoot up over the ridge behind their yard.
Kamloops Fire Rescue could not confirm how many trucks were on site nor the size of the grassfire as they are still working at the site.
