KAMLOOPS - Crime Stoppers in Kamloops is teaming up with B.C. Parks to help protect the Lac Du Bois Grasslands this summer.

Kamloops and District Crime Stoppers says if someone happens to witness another person dumping illegally in the grasslands or destroying the grasslands in any way, they can call Crime Stoppers to anonymously report it.

If you submit a tip online, you can attach photos, videos or audio if you happen to catch an offender in the act, according to a post to the Crime Stoppers' Facebook page.

The dumping and destroying of the Lac Du Bois Grasslands has been a problem for years, which has led to an annual clean up in the Dew Drop range where up to 5,000 lbs. of garbage has been cleaned up so far.

Kamloops Naturalist Club vice president Frank Ritcey posted photos on his Facebook page earlier this week of more garbage dumped in the area, despite signage banning vehicles. He posted a picture of one of the provincial park signs and one of a pile of garbage saying "another two signs that there are still some who don't get it."

You can submit a tip to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or by going to their website here.
