Is it a spider with a tail or a cat with twelve legs?

The spider costume is not the only one in this cat’s wardrobe, in fact he has all sorts of them.

His owner Jocelyn Bailly of Kamloops said she posted pictures of the dressed up cat, named Bela Lugosi, and it is causing a stir. She named her cat after the actor who played Dracula.

“He has lots of costumes and this year I bought him a spider costume,” she said. “Someone I don’t know posted his picture on Twitter and he got close to 300,000 retweets. I have since talked to that person and they credited me for the picture.”

Bailly said the 12-year-old male cat is all over Facebook and Twitter, and has his own Instagram account.

“I keep getting tagged in more posts,” she said. “It’s been non-stop for two weeks. He is a handsome cat and it is great to have him in the spotlight.”

She harness trained Bela Lugosi when he was a kitten although he doesn’t wear his harness very often any more.

“Now he wears costumes which he associates with wearing his harness,” she said. “If he sees one of his costumes, he comes up and turns around excitedly so I can put it on him. My other cat would not allow this."

Bailly said the cat's favourite costume is a set of bat wings.
