A Kamloops RCMP officer, previously convicted for assaulting a homeless man in 2017, is scheduled for an internal code of conduct hearing next month.
RCMP Const. Todd Henderson is facing allegations he breached 13 contraventions of the RCMP Code of Conduct and is scheduled for a conduct hearing, Nov. 22.
The precise details of the allegations, or when they took place, have not been released but the RCMP's Conduct Board website alleges Henderson breached three sections.
Four of the allegations relate to a section of the code that states: "Members properly account for, and do not alter, conceal or destroy, without lawful excuse, any property, money or documents coming into their possession in the performance of their duties."

A further five allegations relate to a section of the code that states officers must act with "integrity, fairness and impartiality," and not "compromise or abuse their authority, power or position."
The remaining allegations deal with a section of the code stating that RCMP members must "treat every person with respect and courtesy" and not "engage in discrimination or harassment."
An RCMP conduct hearing is a court-like process that is open to the public and held in front of a board that makes a legal determination. The board has the authority to discipline officers, including dismissal.
In 2019, Henderson was convicted of assaulting a homeless man in handcuffs while on duty in August 2017.
Henderson received a conditional charge, meaning although he was convicted he didn't receive a criminal record.
