A man in his 40s is in custody after allegedly breaking into a Kamloops liquor store.
Police were called to the 300 block of Tranquille Road where a suspect smashed into a store through a window around 11 p.m., Oct. 18, according to a news release.
He grabbed liquor from inside then fled the scene on foot, according to Kamloops RCMP.
“Thanks to the quick response of officers, a suspect was located nearby, drinking from one of the bottles believed to have been stolen, and taken into custody without issue,” spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the news release.
The man was later given a court date and released on conditions. Charges haven't yet been approved.
