The Kamloops Blazers will begin the 2023 playoffs with a matchup against the Vancouver Giants.
The Blazers had a strong regular season, finishing with 103 points – the second best in the Western Conference and third most in the WHL. The Giants finished the season with 64 points.
Kamloops has a powerful offence with four players – Logan Stankoven, Caedan Bankier, Matthew Seminoff and Olen Zellweger – among the league’s top-20 scoring leaders, whereas Vancouver’s top scorer comes in at 38th overall.
The first two games are in Kamloops at the Sandman Centre on March 31 and April 1. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
The winner of the the WHL Championship Series will move on to the 2023 Memorial Cup in Kamloops. The Blazers automatically qualified for the tournament as the host city.
In the BCHL, the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and Prince George Spruce Kings have matched up for the first round of the playoffs, having both finished the regular season with 61 points. The first two games will be at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm on March 31 and April 1. Click here for ticket info.
