PENTICTON - A Penticton resident lost a quantity of jewellery in a residential break and enter last week.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said thieves got inside a Westview Road residence overnight Monday, Oct. 24, using a pry bar to access the front door.
Residents were not home at the time and were unaware of the theft until a discarded lock box was found at the Greyhound bus station and police were notified.
Follow up investigation of the lock box led to discovery of the break in.
A large amount of jewellery was reported missing.
Police believe the suspect vehicle in the theft is a faded black hatchback with a loud muffler driven by a white male in his 30s, six feet in height with short blond hair and a medium build. He had a female passenger in her 30s, possibly brown hair.
