JCI Vernon is getting ready to host the 7th Annual Alternative Gift Fair.
Saturday, November 26th
12pm - 5pm
Schubert Centre, 3505 30th Avenue
The fair offers holiday shoppers an easy way to buy gifts of charitable donations and to support their favorite causes. Each participating organization offers a variety of meaningful “gifts of help” in price ranges that start as low as $10. Shoppers will receive cards that identify their donations.
“This year we will be seeing some participating organizations return, also we have had some interest from new groups,” says JCI Vernon Alternative Gift Fair co-chair Deryk Ellison. “These groups represent a variety of causes, allowing you to choose meaningful gifts for both friends and family. On your way to the downtown Christmas Light Up why not stop by the Schubert Centre and donate to a charitable cause this holiday season.”
In the past two years, the JCI Vernon Alternative Gift Fair has raised more than $10,000 for local organizations. Representatives from each not-for-profit organization will be present at the fair, and they will be educating visitors about their current projects and programs that help make a difference in the community,” says Ellison. “It’s also an easy way to get your holiday shopping done and give a gift that gives back.”
This year we have 11 participating organizations in the Alternative Gift Fair which are:
-
The Okanagan Rail Trail Initiative
-
Zimbabwe Project Canada
-
The Road Home Rescue & Safekeeping Society
