Ducks splash around in the rain at Gamble Pond at Albert McGowan Park.

The 50/50 jackpot in a lottery raising money for wildlife conservation in BC has surpassed the $200,000 mark.

Along with the 50/50 jackpot currently at $209,000, the BC Wildlife Federation's fundraising lottery prizes also includes a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Pro 4WD pickup truck and a 2024 Yamaha Kodiak 450 ATV, according to media release from the federation issued today, Jan. 3.

The early bird prize was just won by M. Lindsay from Kamloops who takes home a Premium Hunting Package from Italian Sporting Goods.

The wildlife federation is the province’s leading conservation organization.

The organization helps to restore vital habitats where fish and other wildlife are threatened through their Wetlands Workforce and Wetlands Institute. The federation also supports independent scientific research and advocates for science-based natural resource policies.

Tickets start at $10 or bundles are available at $20 for three tickets, $50 for ten and $100 for 30.

The ticket sales deadline is 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, and the final draw will be made on Feb. 5 at 12 p.m.
