Spring is here and the gardeners of West Kelowna and Westbank First Nation are out in force prepping their gardens and yards for the coming season.

Now is the time to plan your garden with the Partners in Bloom Most Beautiful Contest in mind.

The Partners in Bloom are the District of West Kelowna and Westbank First Nation who take part in a joint entry in the Communities in Bloom National competition.

All District of West Kelowna and Westbank First Nation residents and businesses are invited to put their gardening and yard maintenance skills to the test and see who really is the “Most Beautiful” in these categories:

·         Personal Garden/Yard
·         Vegetable Garden
·         Curb Appeal (Front Yard)
·         Business
·         Strata
·         Tree (Public or Private)

Register or nominate your entry by Wednesday, June 17 by calling 778-797-8800 or stop by West Kelowna’s Recreation and Culture office at Mount Boucherie Complex at 2760 Cameron Road.

Judging takes place the week of June 22 by a team of Master Gardeners. Winners will be announced at a wine and cheese event with our visiting national Communities in Bloom judges on July 26.

Communities in Bloom is a Canadian organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, beautification and improving the quality of life through community participation and the challenge of a national competition.
