Irreplaceable war medals stolen from Blind Bay

BLIND BAY - A family is hoping First and Second World War medals will be recovered after they were taken during a break and enter last week.

Thieves entered a house on Birch Lane in Blind Bay through a window between 6:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m., March 10, RCMP say in a release.

A desktop computer and five First and Second World War medals belonging to the owner’s father and grandfather were stolen. Staff Sgt. Scott West says an Italian Star 1934 to 1945 and a volunteer medal were among the stolen items.

Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
