OKANAGAN - Interior Savings believes in working together to build healthy communities, which is why the local credit union generously donated $16,350 through their Community Investment Fund to purchase speciality equipment for the YMCA that typically isn’t found in a main-stream fitness centre.

“This enables the YMCA to serve new participants, the majority being seniors, who need adaptable equipment to overcome their mobility restrictions and health issues,” says Alyssa Christie, YMCA Health Promotions Supervisor. “We have seen a significant increase in the number of people attending our Healthy Hips and Knees program at H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre and they are benefitting from the donated leg press, folding medical table and other equipment in order to perform their exercises.”

“The YMCA has been an excellent partner in helping to build strong and age-friendly communities,” says Interior Savings CEO Kathy Conway. “Through their Health Promotions Programs, they are making health and wellness services accessible to everyone and we are happy to lend our support.”
