Interior Health records 19 of 45 new cases of COVID in B.C.

Another 45 cases of COVID-19 were detected in B.C. in the past 24 hours.

Almost half, 19, were in the Interior Health region, according to a Health Ministry news release issued today, July 9. Another 14 case were in the Vancouver Coastal health region, eight in the Fraser Health region, four in the Vancouver Island Health Region and no new cases reported in the Northern Health region.

There are currently 661 active cases in B.C., with 181 of those in the Interior Health region.

There are 73 people in hospital in B.C. infected with the virus with 19 of those in intensive care.

The vaccination rate for those 12 and older has risen to 78.6 per cent today from 78.4 per cent yesterday.
