VANCOUVER - Forest products company Interfor Ltd. has purchased two timber properties in the Kootenay region of British Columbia.
Vancouver-based Interfor (TSX:IFP.A) says the deal, which is still subject to regulatory approval, will give it an additional annual cut area of 174,000 cubic metres.
The purchase will also increase production at the company's sawmill in Castlegar, B.C.
Interfor operates sawmills in B.C., Washington and Oregon and employs 1,300 workers.
